As Executive Director of Training and Technical Assistance Services at Western Kentucky University (WKU), Colleen Mendel oversees the Department’s Head Start and Human Services Consulting Group; WKU Head Start, Early Head Start, and child care programs; a ten-county Child Care Resource and Referral Agency; the Florida Office of Early Learning Quality Initiative; and several smaller contracts and projects.Her training and consulting interests include program governance, wage comparability and salary administration, and human resources, especially wage and hour issues, performance appraisal, and employee selection. Ms. Mendel holds master’s degrees in business administration, higher education and Spanish, as well as a Duke University Certificate in Non-Profit Management.
